Wednesday November 14, 2007 40 companies to offer 5,000 jobs at career expo
BEEN out of job for a while?
Then come to the three-day 4th Career and Entrepreneur Expo 2007 to be held at the Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) from Dec 14.
The event, presented by StarJobs Online and organised by PenExpo Events Sdn Bhd and AIESEC, will feature over 5,000 jobs involving more than 40 companies such as Astro and Intel.
PenExpo Events Sdn Bhd managing director Francis Wong told a press conference that admission to the event is free and there will be a lucky draw with the Motorola Q8 smart phone as the grand prize.
“Free 500 air tickets by Firefly will also be offered to visitors daily.
“Talks and seminars by Intel, Motorola and the Penang Chef Association have also been organised,” he said.
AIESEC is an international platform for young people to discover and develop their potential to have a positive impact in society.
State Executive Councillor Teng Chang Yeow, who was also at the press conference, hoped that the organisers would invite companies from Singapore and Hong Kong to take part in next year’s expo.
“This will hopefully make the event the northern region’s or even the country’s best such expo. It will also give locals a chance to go global.”
The expo will be open from 10am to 6pm.
